Prometheus Ascarus
Arial Delore: Hello Prometheus, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Would you tell the readers a little about yourself, where you're from, your age and so on.
Prometheus Ascarus: Well, I'm a 18 year old boy from Germany. I'm still going to school and i'm about to get my a-levels.
AD: Ah, you live in Germany. Have you ever been tempted to visit Regensburg, the "home" of Tibia?
PA: I've been in Regensburg once... I already played Tibia back then, but I didn't know that the headquarters of CIP are located there. ;)
AD: How long have you played Tibia?
PA: Well the first time I played Tibia was 2000 I think. But I was like: "Awww! My eyes.". After 2 years I started again.. and took another break for 1 year. After that I played pretty constantly. So I guess ~ 2 years would fit as an answer.
AD: Your account page shows you played on Isara before Harmonia, what made you move to a non-pvp world?
PA: I mainly left Isara because all my friends quitted there. They quitted because they got hunted by the famous "Del'Toros". So powerabusing was an important aspect, too. After all I regret that I left Isara, though.
AD: Currently you're a level 134 master sorceror, making you the highest level sorceror on this server. When you started the character did you aspire to be the best sorceror on Harmonia?
PA: No. When I started on Harmonia I just wanted to play for fun and leave all the "powergaming" behind. Well.. I see that my idea of "powergaming" was totally wrong back then. I powergamed even more than I did on isara.. with one goal: to hunt demons one day.
AD: "to hunt demons one day"... i'll get back to that, but first, do you have a Tibian mentor or role-model?
PA: No. I basically started to play Tibia because I wanted to have fun, not to symbolize some kind of hero (such as Aragon). I never had any particular mentor.. but still many people showed me how to act in certain situations. So I had a lot of mentors in some way.
AD: Have you any "apprentices" of your own?
PA: Mmh. Maybe my RL-brother Alfred Ascarus. I give him alot of hints, but the main part he does by himself. So I guess, no. ;)
AD: You recently got some fame on the other servers when you crashed right into the top of the "Most Experience in One Day" table at erig.net. What made you go for the top spot? Was it a bet or challenge? Or, as you spent the whole time in Demona, you finally getting "to hunt demons [for] one day"
PA: I think it was a challenge. None of my RL-friends was available at this specific day, so I thought: "Hey.. why not?" and simply did it. I did hunt demons a lot already, so I reached this goal ;) You always need new goals/challenges. Otherwise life would be boring.
AD: If someone beats your score of just under 3 million exp in one day, would you attempt to re-gain the top spot?
PA: Definitely "no". After the day when I broke the record, I really didn't feel good in RL. Somehow it was a kind of once-and-never-again-action.
AD: You mentioned boredom, how do you keep away the boredom in Tibia? I've heard you often set yourself difficult challenges...
PA: Always think of the goal you set to yourself, and no step further. That's the trick ;) But I have to admit that this won't work forever. There is always a point when everything seems to be an unbreakable loop. Demona -> 100+Demons -> Demona -> ... . That's why I stopped playing now.
AD: What was the most difficult challenge you've succeeded in?
PA: Urm.. Let me think.. I guess when i escaped from those 4 demons in the Annihilator, while uhing 3 times was a quite difficult task.
AD: If you could make one improvement to Tibia, what would it be?
PA: To extend the world of Tibia. Area as well as new kind of monsters, that are huntable (Pharaohs are NOT huntable ;>).
AD: And finally, if you could name a server, what would you call it?
PA: I never thought about that ;P "Promethia"?! ;>

PA: You're welcome. I have a lot of time when I'm not running around in demona ;P
